नटरंग येण्याच्या आधीच त्याच्या गाण्यांनी भुरळ घातली. गाणी कानात येऊन आता जवळ जवळ दिड महिना झालायं, पण असा एकही दिवस गेला नसेल की, ज्या दिवशी आम्ही ही गाणी कमीत कमी १५-२० वेळा ऐकली नसतील. आणि मग अशी गाणी मला काहीतरी करायला प्रवॄत्त करु लागली आणि मग हे झालं. हि नटरंगची झिंगच आहे म्हणा ना!!

आम्हाला संतोषच्या या बहादूरीचा हेवा वाटला.
न रहावून समीरनं विचारलं," काय रे? बायकोचा फोन होता ना? कट का केला? ती तुला आता... ...!!"
संतोष, " अरे! कट करावाच लागला! उचलला अस्ता तर म्हणाली अस्ती, फोन का उचलला? २ रुपये फूकट गेले ना! ऑफीसमधून फोन करता येत नाही का?"

चित्रपट पाहिल्यावर ज्याच्या मुखातून "वाह!" येत नाही, त्याला तो समजलाच नाही! काय बनवलाय हा सिनेमा!! खर्रच्च!!

आज पाहू... उद्या पाहू... अस्सं करता करता जवळ जवळ महीना गेला आणि तो बघायचा राहूनच गेला.. आणि शेवटी आज मुहुर्त सापडला! खेदाची गोष्ट अशी की, आम्ही १४ जण मित्र-मैत्रीणी गेलो होतो आणि आमच्या सोबत अजून इतर दोघे जणच होते. म्हंजे एकंदरीत १६! अस्सो! मुद्दा तो नाहीये!!

सगळंच उत्कृष्ठ असलेला असा सिनेमा! कथा, अभिनय (सुली - मुक्ता बर्वे, तायप्पा - उपेन्द्र लिमये.. आणि बाकि सगळ्ळेच्च!!) दिग्दर्शन (राजीव पाटील), चित्रीकरण (संजय जाधव - १००/१०० मार्क्स) आणि संगीत (अजय-अतुल - देव माणसं)! सगळ्ळंच वाह!!

जीव गुंगला.. रंगला.. दंगला.. हे हरीहरण आणि श्रेया घोषाल यांनी गायलेलं गाणी अप्रतीम! त्याचं चित्रीकरण त्यापेक्षा भारी!!

अस्से मराठी चित्रपट खुप कमी येतात राव!! बघा बघा!! जिथे असेल तिथे आणि थिएटरमध्येच बघा! त्याशिवाय मज्ज्जा नाही! मला जाम उशीर झाला बघायला पण मी पाहीलाच!

वरच्या गाण्यावरून "हा सिनेमा कसा असेल!? विकृत असेल!" असा विचार न करता बघा! आणि नंतर बोला!

DRUSHTIKON - 2009 - my first foto exhibition in group!

what an experience !!
it started far far before.. than the actual days of exhibition.. from sending entries to the exhibit to the last day of exhibit.. P@P told to submit 5 entries for exhibit, which i did.. n they select all those 5 entries for exhibit.. i was winner at that moment only!! :D Initially, i had selected some other 5 fotos to send.. but those were not fit in the categories shared by them.. so new 5 fotos!! :)

Meantime, Suhas and Pankanj (admins of P@P) asked me to design event communications, so i did. I started work.. n that also goes well.. most important here.. they didnt interfere in design like very typical client. n that's why i enjoyed the work. It was funn working with P@P team. I enjoyed making DRUSHTIKON 2009 designs - posters, hoarding, banners, invitation, flyer, sponsor card, NGO's sheet, photographer info page etc.

exhibit was on 13-14 and 15th november at pune.. was not able to be there on the first day.. ie. on friday as i cought up in office work, but was there for next 2 days. Those 2 days were really yaadgaar.

Aai-Baba was there on the day two! Sahil, Sanil, Omkar, Ballu, Sushil, Vishal D, Aamod, Nilesh, VivekD n their friends were with me in the morning. Presence of Aai-Baba and these friends made my day. I met Rushi, Suhas, Pankaj, Soumitra for the first time there. Suhas's expressions after seeing was ttotally unexpected. After exhibit.. ie. after 9.oo pm, Bhushan's guitar Mehfil started.. what a singer + guitarist he is!!! I missed his mehfil on friday night and also on the sunday night. :(

Next day, on Sunday, Saarang came with his cousin there.. (i literally forgot to wish him there.. his b'day.. i was so excited about the event.. :). Then sudi, nishant, mrudula and richa visited. Had funn with them as well. Thanx guys! :)

I was supposed to have a workshop on colourscheme on Saturday, but was not able to do that for some great reasons! but it happened on Sunday then.. the workshop of Photoshop - toning, adding colours, adding textures to photos - ie. enhancing photos through PS with tones n textures. It was a success with the help of Rushi and Suhas.

FLOP magazine arranged a unique program there of viewers choice. At the entrace, they shared a paper with the viewers n told them to select their top 5 fotos from the exhibit. i found, every viewer was doing this pro-actively and after 2 days of exhibit i came to know, my "Character in Rust' was in TOP 5. WAAAH!

The world we live in is made up of a myriad of places, events and colors… from the serene and picturesque mountains... to the raging seas. All made of different colors and different shades. The moment you see such immaculate sights, be it natural or artificial, you always want to capture them forever.

Over the past couple of years, we have been capturing countless such spectacular sights too, but with a slight difference. The difference is in seeing the world through our lens…

A different world through our Drushtikon ...

This exhibition aims to promote and popularize photography as a serious hobby and at the same to time support a social cause. The group will be sponsoring children from Vidya Mahamandal's organisation for deaf and dumb children. Also, voluntary donations revived from the visitors at the exhibition will be added in the members' contribution.

About Photographers at Pune:
Photographers at Pune or P@P as it is popularly known, is an informal online group of mostly amateur but highly devoted photography enthusiasts with some connection to Pune city. Started in 2006 by half a dozen people, P@P has today grown to be a strong 1300 member group. It’s a mix of members from all walks of life, from students to corporate directors and from 15 year old to senior citizens.

As an electronic group, we use the online platform provided by flickr to share and discuss photos and also learn the finer aspects of photography. But that’s just a primary aspect. Apart from online discussions and photo sharing, we as a group conduct various offline meets, photo shoots around Pune and workshops and seminars on a regular basis.

The group has a fervent pool of 25,000 photos of which on an average 250 new photos and 30 new members are added are every week. Our activities as a group has been featured in various print media including ToI, DNA, Sakal, Pune Mirror, Indian Express, Better Photography to name a few.

It is the dream of each and every photographer to display his work in an exhibition. With that in mind, we as group have been conducting exhibitions to display the work of its members for the past two years. So far we have successfully conducted two neatly planned photography exhibitions.

Hampi!
it was a civilisation of about half a million population in the year 1336 which was known as Vijaynagar.

It's a belief that, Lord Rama met Hanuman and killed Vali in exchange for help from Sugreeva there. That means, Hampi has a epical history since Ramayana! WOW! In Ramayana times, this region was known as Kishkinda (Monkey Kingdom)

It has a mythical aura in it and you can feel it there. Some of the monuments are spooky though! :)

Hampi has it's own unique style of architecture. there are temples, there are masjids. Some monuments are mixture of both. I personally liked the HajaarRam Temple. The temple with 1000 sculptures of Rama on it.

कॅमेर्‍यातला गणेश-जन्म

लालबाग.. मुंबईचं लालबाग... मुंबईतले हजारो गणपती येथे जन्मला येतात. सगळ्या साईज मधले... ५ इंचापासून २५-३५ फूटापर्यंतचे. आमच्या घरच्या गणपतीचं जन्म्-स्थळ पण लालबागच. गणपती बनवताना बघायला, अनुभवायला जाम जाम बरं वाटतं. काय मेहनत घेतात ते कारागीर! रात्रं-दिवस राबतात! शिवाय काम म्हंजे डेड्-लाईन वरचं. मिस करून चालूच न शकणारं. कधी कधी रंगवलेल्या गणपतींपेक्षा न रंगवलेले गणपती ऑसम वाटत्तात. (त्यांचे फोटो पण चांगले येतात) अजून २ दिवसान्नी बाप्पा येतील. पण यांच काम चालुच आहे. जागेच्या अभावामूळे, हे एक्-एक गणपती (२०-२५ फूटाचे) २-३ दिवसात बनवला जातो आणि मंडळाला सांगून गणपती घरी पाठवला जातो. आणि त्याच जागेवर परत दुसरा गणपती जन्म घेतो. गणपती येण्याच्या साधारण २०-२५ दिवस आधीपासून हे चक्र चालु होतं. दरवर्षीप्रमाणे यावर्षीही लालबागला जाऊन आलो आणि नेहमी प्रमाणे गणेश-जन्म कॅमेरात घेतला!

दरवर्षी बाप्पा येण्याआधी - आणि बाप्पा आल्यानंतर, लालबागला कमीत कमी ५-६ फेर्‍या होतातच! मुंबईतला खरा गणेशोत्सव तिकडेच असतो. धमाल रोषणाई अस्ते. २ दिवसान्नी बाप्पा येईल आणि परत एकदा फुल्ल्-ऑन धम्म्माल येईल!!

10 Ways to Enjoy Rains (in Mumbai)

The rainy season is considered to be a non favourite amongst a lot of people, but for a true mumbaiite, its the season of fun, love and a lot of activities. Here's giving some simple tips on how to make this season a truly memorable one.

01.
Always carry an umbrella, those wind cheaters dont work in Mumbai rains. And dont use it, unless some cute chick needs it. U can always be 'the man'.. at the right place...at the right time. Using a umbrella during heavy rains is an Art too :)

02.
Travel by Bus or rickshaw if u want to really enjoy the rains. Trains can kill ur excitement and cabs will make u crave for it (with closed windows)... unless u are with a special someone :)

03.
Take a long walk at Marine drives or Worli Seaface preferably eating a Corn (Bhutta) or maybe get drenched and enjoy some hot Onion Bhajiyas (Kanda bhajiyas) with Cutting Chai. Even Coffee is an good option.

04.
For people who dont know wot chai and coffee is :), YES hard drink..it is. They never seem so good in any other season. The best option is to have Scotch or Old Monk Rum (Naah.. NO smirnoffs and bacardis plz...they dont even stand close to an Old Monk)

05.
Its is the season where u eat a lot and sleep a lot. Best food to have during rains are fast food and Chinese...and to some extent indian(dhaabas only). Coz they r available everywhere. Avoid eating from roadside and fall ill. This is certainly not the season to fall ill.

06.
Holidays are a MUST in this season. So take whenever u want. U r one lucky ass if u travel by trains, or live in the central side of town. Reasons like 'Trains are not workin' , 'King Cirle / Hindmata is flooded' (which always happen.. even if 4 dogs pee there together...its a 29 yr experience..trust me) , 'My area is flooded'... are some of the reasons u can always use. But USE WISELY too ;)

07.
Its also the season for TREKKING and HIKING. Plan Almost all weekends for some outdoor activity. Trust me maharashtra is jaw droppingly awesome during rains. Some common places are Lohagad, Peb Ghad, Harish Chandra Ghad, Kamshet, Raigad etc etc.

08.
If you arent the one who wants to move out of ur couch at home, then best option is to call friends home and watch some Old hindi movies of Hrishikesh Mukherjee or Basu Chatterjee movies or some Classic old English movies. Liquor is a Must. Even Ghazals or Jazz or Soft Rock suits the Ears.

09.
I dont support Smoking, but for all those who just cant leave it, (just like i cant leave alcohol ;))...just pile up ur stocks. Cigarette Smoking is so much fun during rains...and its a must specially when u r drenched totally. Other 'smoke items' are heaven too ;)

10.
Rains and Chicks go hand in hand. They look ultra sexy during this weather... some magic i must say. No wonder a lot of people fall in love in this season. Some of the best places to be during rains in Mumbai..for some 'eye treatment' are Colaba/ VT/ Marine Drives, King Circle/Sion, Chembur, Vashi, Worli(Atria Mall)/ Lower Parel(Phoenix Mall)BAndra ofcourse, Khar/Santacruz, Vileparle, Andheri(west), Malad/Goregaon(central mall), Borivli( IC Colony). If u aint in any of these, u r missing a lot of stuff..and u deserve to leave Mumbai for good.

ऑर्कट्वरच्या एका मित्रानं आशा बगेंचं "त्रिदल" वाच असं सुचवलं. आणि त्यानंतर बर्‍याच दिवसान्नी ते ग्रंथालयात सापडलं. अगदी पहील्या पानापासून ते शेवटच्या पानापर्यंत पुस्तक मस्तपैकी बांधून ठेवतं. साधारण ४-५ महीन्यांनंतर पुस्तक वाचलं हे... त्यामूळे मजा आली. बाकी आशाताईंनी अशा प्रकारे ते लिहीलयं की विचारुन सोय नाही. मस्तच लिहीलयं.

शारदा, श्रीनिवास आणि मंजू ही या कांदबरीतली प्रमुख पात्रं. पुस्तकाचं प्रत्येक पान शारदेनं व्यापलेलं आहे. शारदेचा स्वभाव जरा हेकेखोर, शांत आणि थोडा लहरी! हाच स्वभाव तिला स्वतःला जखडवून ठेवत असतो, तिला माहित असूनही! तिचा नवरा - श्रीनिवास, तिला शेवटपर्यंत साथ देतो, तिचा स्वभाव असा असूनही! मंजू - श्रीनिवासची बहीण आणि शारदेची कॉलेजपासूनची मैत्रीण, हिच्या मूळे शारदेचं पात्र जास्तीत जास्त वाचकापर्यंत पोचायला मदत होते. या तिघांविषयी जाम लिहावसं वाटतयं, पण मी का लिहू?? ते तुम्ही वाचा! (हाहा!!! मी शारदा झालोय का??)

माणसाचा स्वभाव कसा असतो आणि तो कालपरत्वे कसा बदलतो हे या कादंबरीत उत्तमरित्या आलयं.

अनायसे खुप काही शिकल्यासारखं वाटलं.

what a tedious job this is.. isnt it!!! but sum guys have taken this as their professional.. n having mastery on it.. Dont know how these guys manage to do HTMLs n coding!! Ridiculous!!! :D

Once there was lack of resources n i was doing the changes on a site.. The changes was changing a word / replacing a word throughout the site.. i know, u are thinking of just find the word n replace it with the another word.. but Situation was not that much easy. But was critical!! the problem was not getting solved just by finding n replacing it! i opened each n every HTML.. find the word n replaced it. i did that atleast of 15-20 pages!! :((. The very first time, i find how responsible job this is!!! For website design company, HTMLisers plays a great role. HTMLs are bridge between designs and browsers! Our designs got a window just because of HTMLs n good HTMLisers! We cant just design n release it for web. For a better site, proper HTMLs are essential. NO options!!

Anyways, the reason behind writing all this is..
last thursday, we have "HTMLs n it's problems" discussion topic at AnD meet. Naim, Ravish n Amit handled this. It was a great session. All spoke well.. n it was a great learning. They shared their views, thoughts, problems, solutions with us! There was a question-answer session also n very last question was asked by Abhishek (one of our sr. animators) n that was very amazzing..

He asked, "Why u likes to do HTMLs?" what a question this is!!! Who will take this tidious job as a profession?? But a reply we get on this is very mind blowing.. n truely winner! On this question Amit replied, " Do u like to solve quizes n puzzles??" Answer from our end was obviously "YESS!!". then Amit said, "here is our answer. we also love to solve quizes n puzzles.. n we just take this a profession. Your designs + forthcoming programming is quiz for us.. n we try to solve it in our ways.. through coding!!!"

What a brilliant answer!!!

बांदेकरांचा "पपॉमन्स्" !

हा ले़ख अख्ख्या महाराष्ट्राचे भावोजी "आदेश बांदेकर" यांच्या नावावर!!

धमालच आहे! मला यांचे बोलणं जाम आवडतं!! "एकापेक्षा एक" मध्ये तर ह्यांचा "पपॉमन्स्" रॉकींग असतो! हो!! खरंच! त्यांना "परफॉर्मन्स्" हा शब्दच बोलता येत नाही. हवं तर "एकापेक्षा एक" बघा एकदा खास यासाठी! उगाचच आपण जास्त फेंडली (फ्रेंडली) आहोत, असा आव आणून सर्व स्पर्धकांशी बोलणार! त्यात खवचटपणा किती असतो, ते चाणाक्ष प्रेक्षकांना सांगायला नको! अगदी म्हागुरुंना सुध्दा!!

बायका जरा खाष्टच असतात असं ऍकून आहे! पण त्या सूध्दा यांना प्रत्युत्तर का देत नाहीत ते कळत नाही! मात्र "एकापेक्षा एक" च्या सेलिब्रीटी भागामध्ये अमॄता खानविलकरने एकदा चमत्कारच केला होता! हिचा "पपॉमन्स्" झाल्यावर यांनी तिला काहितरी विचारलं आणि त्याला उत्तर देण्याऐवजी ती चक्क त्यांना म्हणाली, "ते राहु द्या हो! आधी ज्युरींचं मत ऍकू या!" ते ही अगदी हात झिडकारुन! मला जाम मजा आली ते पहायला! म्हंजे कोणीतरी सापडला होता! :)

"पपॉमन्स्" झाल्यावर, उगाचच एखादा बिनडोक प्रश्न! "कसं झालं?", "का झालं?", "१००% दिलं असं वाटतयं का?" इ. उत्तरं तर यांना स्वतःलाही माहीत नसतात आणि कधी कधी तर समोरचा काय बोलतोय, याकडे दुर्लक्ष देऊन सरळ ज्युरींचं मत! ज्युरी आणि म्हागुरुंचं वक्तव्य चालु असताना यांचा चेहरा पहावा... नेहमी बारा वाजलेले!!!

एकदा पाहूणी कलाकार म्हणून कोणीतरी लहान मुलगी आली होती, तिचा "पपॉमन्स्" झाल्यावर, हे आले आणि यांनी तिला उचलून घेतलं आणि नेहमीप्रमाणे काहीतरी खवचट प्रश्न टाकला आणि त्यानंतर त्यांना कळलं की, अरे! हीला जास्त वेळ उचलून घेऊ शकत नाही आणि तसं केलं तर मग माईक कोण पकडणार? मग त्यांनी तिला उतरवलं आणि मग ते बसुन बोलले! त्यात ही नेहमी प्रमाणे, त्यांनी तिला उगाचच इकडचे-तिकडचे प्रश्न विचारले आणि नंतर काहि न सुचल्यावर, माझ्या आई मला माफ कर! असं बोलून थांबले!

अजून एक, कोणाला ही "पपॉमन्स्" साठी बोलवल्यावर, एक टुणकन् बेडूक उडी मारतात ते! म्हंजे या वाक्यानंतर, "आणि आता आप्ल्यासमोर येत आहे.. अमूक गावची तमूक" आणि लगेच छोटीशी बेडूक उडी मारुन स्क्रीनबाहेर!

असो! बांदेकरांविषयी कोण कधी लिहील का ते माहीत नाहि! विचार केला की आपणच सुरुवात करावी! :)

ता. क. : मला हा ले़ख फक्त बांदेकरांचा "पपॉमन्स्" ह्या शब्दोच्चारामुळे लिहावसा वाटला. "किंबहुना" त्या शब्दोच्चारानेच भाग पाडलं म्हणू या!

अजून एक ता. क. : हा ले़ख काही कारणास्तव मी पूर्ण टाकला नव्हता. पण कालचा / आजचा त्यांचा "पपॉमन्स्" पाहुन तिडीक गेली, डोक्यात आणि परत ही पोस्त टाकली!! भावोजी माफ करा! पण जे आहे ते आहे आणि ते तुम्ही स्वतः सुध्दा नाकारु शकत नाही!

I want to keep this mail as short as possible, but I don't think I'll be able to. If any of you were affected by what happened, do take time to read this.

The power of the internet, SMSes and media brought together thousands of people lighting candles for the shaheed jawans and protesting against inept politicians. In no time, various groups of people and organizations came up with various ways to show their protest – be it through t-shirts or placards. I was there to witness it all.

For the first time in my life, I saw the voice of the people raised as one, asking for change. Fighting for change. The energy was tremendously positive. So much energy that at that moment we could have achieved anything, absolutely anything. I'd like to illustrate the energy, intensity and clarity of why we were there with one silly example:
when I first saw the crowd, I was afraid to enter especially since I was with a girl, knowing the kinds of things happen in crowds in parties or on the roads. But I was amazed to see thousands of young and beautiful boys and girls walking fearlessly, and not for a moment did I feel any girl would be unsafe here. In fact, it was my friend who forced me into the crowd. It didn't matter who in the crowd was Hindu or Muslim.
It was clear that religious divides matter only to the politicians.

But even after all this, I felt that at the end of the day the score stood the same: we the people 0; politicians 1.
I completely agree that although the nature of the protest was wonderful and unexpected, so many positive things came out.
But the next time we come together, our protest needs to be more focused. One error on our part and the politicians will win… again. Remember that they were sitting at home with a glass of whiskey, watching us on TV and laughing. They wanted this protest to center only around this single incident, and that's what we did. The energy was scattered and although the people were united, the unity needs a path.

Half the people there were shouting anti-Pakistan messages. Weren't we there to pay our homage to the soldiers and policemen who died to protect us? Most people were demanding better security measures like CCTVs, armed guards, better disaster management, more securities in malls and public places. etc.

How is this related to the larger problem of the citizens' apathy? We have taken too long to wake up. Why didn't we have such protests after the Godhra riots? Or after the train blasts?

How is this related to the larger problem of shoddy governance? What if tomorrow a poorly made bridge falls and the same number of people die? Isn't this too a failure of the government just like the terror attacks? The government will again wait for us to get angry enough to stage a protest before doing something about it. But what will they do? Order attacks on Pakistan? If so, will the people screaming at Gateway agree to stand and take the bullets?

The issue is not just terrorism, it is about the way we function at a fundamental level. Who does a quality check on the government's work?
Why have I never seen my local politicians? Why are there no periodical reviews of what they have achieved? Why aren't the politicians forced to confront the people of his constituency every 15 days and explain what he has done to improve their lives? What happens if he fails to do anything?

The issues we were screaming about at Gateway are not the real issues.
We need to come up with a plan that puts pressure on the government to do their jobs and clearly tells them we won't listen to their bullshit anymore.

we get together with so much of energy but I guess we are still single man army. I thought the groups who are coming with number of people will have a plan and I guess they had also. I thought they will take other people together but not a single group came forward may be because it was first time and the situation was such that it didn’t worked out.
There was no action from them to collaborate with more people or other groups. Or as an individual I couldn’t relate to a single group and say yes we will be together and fight against terriosm against the politicians to bring the change. And I am sure this is same story with every individual person who came forward thinking he will do something that day.

And this is what made me say. Score: We the People:0 Our politicians: 1

I have great appreciation for the groups that formed on the 3rd dec. and I have no doubt about their efforts and planning I know how tough it must have been to bring together even a small number of people to join the protest. I know because I tried and didn't quite succeed. But next time all the groups need to join hands and form a unified force. And that’s where politicians ke dhoti gili hogi.
Once again remember we have to beat them in their own game

So to the next group of protesters getting together on Saturday or any other day, I would only say: please go with some focus. You will never again be part of a crowd that has the intensity and drive to achieve anything – so go with a purpose. Get everyone together

Remember, it's now or never.

when we reached to Konkeshwar temple.. we found fishermen were getting fish.. wow what situation it was. we all shutterbugs just ran to click whatever we got. hahha!! enjoyed that place + clicking. This kid was helping them to collect fishes.. :)

आत्ताच एक किस्सा घडला. आमच्या ऑफीससमोर एक कॉलेज आहे. सदैव तरुण मुला-मुलींची तिकडे रेंगळ असते. आता दुपारी तर जामच.असो.

एक बाईक स्वार, इम्प्रेशन पाडायला झकास पैकी बाईक भरधाव घेऊन गेला. अशा खडतर रस्त्यावर त्याने अशी बाईक हाकली म्हणून सारंगने आपल्या उजव्या हाताचं मधलं बोट उंचावून निषेध दर्शवला. बाईक बिघडली तर खर्च सारंग करणार का? म्हणून मी दुर्लक्ष केलं.

आणि यावर अमितचं मत : " हा वेडा एवढ्या जोरात का गेला? जोरात जाऊन काही उपयोग आहे का? ज्यांच्यावर इम्प्रेशन पाडायचयं त्यांना तर हा दिसला पण नसेल..!!!"

हा!! हा!!

just came back from my Konkan trip. 5 days trip at Konkan, Ratnagiri. n i m tanned.. :D as usual... it was really awesome.. i have discovered the unseen Konkan!

Trip was really awesome with no words to explain.. just have sum fotos to share.. to say... to explain... to enjoy.. to tell a story.

it was organised by Prof. Shrikant Malushte and Mr. Ganesh Khavle. Both are real great photographers.. n each day was wonderful with them. Other clicker team was also great.. each one with his/her own style n i learnt alot with them. Got new friends with same thoughts n habits.. :D

कधी कधी वाटते की या आयुष्याला अर्थच नाही.

अर्थ शोधण्याचा आपण एकसारखा प्रयत्न करतो. आपल्या परीने अर्थ लावतो. आखाडे बांधतो. अनुभवावरुन काही अनुमाने काढतो. सिध्दातांच्या चौकटी स्वतःभोवती उभारतो. काय म्हणजे यश आणि काय म्हणजे अपयश, याचे आपल्या कल्पनेप्रमाणे हिशेब मांडतो. त्या हिशेबांच्या आधाराने यशस्वी होण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो. त्यासाठी रक्ताचे पाणी करुन धडपड करतो. एका मर्यादेत यशस्वी होतो. मग स्वतःला सांगतो की, मी बुवा असा. इतरांना पटवतो की, मी हा असा, माझी आई अशी, माझे वडील असे. हे आमचे खानदान. हे आमचे सत्त्व. हे आमचे तत्व. आम्ही म्हणजे असे वागणार. दुसरी दिशा आमची नाही. आम्ही असेच चालणार. प्राण गेला तरी बदलणार नाही. वगैरे वगैरे खूप. सारे अगदी खरेखुरे असते. निदान आपल्याला तरी ते तसे खरेखुरे वाटत असते. आपल्यापुरते ते अगदी कालत्रयी बदलणार नसते.

आणि एकदम काहीतरी घडते! वरवर पाहता अगदी क्षुल्लक वाटणारे. सहजपणे घडून जाणारे. आणि मग पाहावे तर ही क्षुल्लक गोष्टच सारे जीवन उद्ध्वस्त करुन टाकते. आपल्याला आजवर कळलेला आयुष्याचा अर्थ चुकीचाच होता, असे जाणवून देते. पण तोवर फार उशीर झालेला असतो. कुठे चुकले हे समजायच्या आतच सारे काही पार हाताबाहेर गेलेले असते. इतकी वर्षे एकाच दिशेने चालल्यामुळे दुसरी दिशा जणू समजत नाही. दुसरा अर्थ पटत नाही. नवीन कल्पनांच्या नव्या चौकटी पुन्हा उभारणे सोपे नसते. मग काय करावे ते समजत नाही. आपण नुसते हताश होतो. हतबल होतो. दिङमूढ होतो. आणि मनाची शांती कायमचीच गमावून बसतो.

शिवाजी - आमचा brand ambassador

परवाच शिवजयंती साजरी झाली. आमच्या विभागात ठिकठिकाणी मस्तपैकी होर्डींग्ज पण लावले होते, अगदी एक आठवड्या आधीपासूनच! मस्त भपकेदार रंग! एखाद्या उत्तम आणि आकर्षक जाहिरातीचा नमुनाच!
त्यामध्ये विशेष गोष्ट हि होती की, होर्डींग्जवर शिवरायांच्या फोटो/चित्रा व्यतिरीक्त, काही समाजसेवकांच्या टोळीचे सूध्दा फोटो होते. एका होर्डींग्जमध्ये तर शिवरायांचा फोटो जर जरा लहान करून ठेवला असता तर, ते पण त्या समाजसेवकांपैकीच एक वाटले असते. सगळा प्रकारच अजब! नक्की हे होर्डींग्ज लावण्यामागचे कारण समजलंच नाही. म्हंजे खरंच शूभेच्छा, मानाचा मुजरा द्यायच्या आहेत की शिवरायांना आपला brand ambassador समजून मस्तपैकी जाहिरात करायचीये? शिवाय हे होर्डींग्ज आता दुसरा कोणता सण आल्याशिवाय उतरवणारच नाहीत!! या होर्डींग्ज टाईपच्या दिवाळी शूभेच्छा आम्ही २६ जानेवारीपर्यंत सोसत होतो.

त्याच दिवशी एक मिरवणूकही पाहीली. मिरवणूकीमध्ये अगदी पूढे ढोल्-ताशे, त्यानंतर ग्रुपमध्ये समाजसेवक, त्यांच्यामागे एक पालखी (त्यामध्ये नक्की काय होतं ते दिसलं नाही), नंतर शिवरायांच्या आणि दोन मावळ्यांच्या वेशातले घोडेस्वार (यांच्या आजु-बाजूला घोडे हाकलणार्‍या व्यतिरीक्त कोणीच नाही) आणि एकदम मागे एक रथरुपी मोटार. त्यामध्ये पूढे झाशीची राणी (का?) आणि मागच्या बाकावर बसलेल्या नऊवारी साडीतल्या ३-४ पोरी! सगळाच सावळा गोंधळ! कार्यक्रम कोणाचा? महत्त्व कोणाला? जाहीरात करण्यासाठी/ मिरवणुकीला निघण्यासाठी शिवजयंतीच्या दिवसाची वाटच बघत होते जणू!!

तूझा नवा सिनेमा पाहिला! म्हंजे "जोधा अकबर". प्रदर्शित होण्यापुर्वीच एवढी हवा होती की तो बघण्यावाचून गत्यंतरच नव्हतं. खरंच भव्य सिनेमा बनवला आहेस. गाणी तर अप्रतीम, याचं सगळं श्रेय आपण रेहमान देवालाच द्यायला हवयं. दुसरा पर्यायच नाहीये!

असो! सिनेमा ठीक झालाय. मला जास्त आवडला नाही. अपेक्षापुर्ती झाली नाही. सिनेमामघ्ये फक्त भव्यपणा जाणवला, दिव्यपणा अजिबातच दिसला नाही. प्रसारमाध्यमांनी याचे एवढं का कौतुक केलं ते पण मला
कळलं नाही!

सिनेमा चालू होऊन एक तासाने मी शैलूला सांगितलं, "अरे! मजा येत नाहीये रे!"शैलू म्हणाला, " डॉक्युमेन्टरी बघतोय असं वाटतयं. एक खर्चिक डॉक्युमेन्टरी!" डॉक्युमेंटरी वरुन आठवलं, "वळु" पाहीलास? अरे! काय धमाल सिनेमा आहे रे! फुल्ल पैसा वस्सुल!! चित्रीकरण तर अप्रतिम!

सुडी पण वैतागला होता. खुप अनफीनिश्ड काम आहे म्हणाला! हत्तीसोबतच्या कुस्तीचे जाम कौतुक झाले होतं पण प्रत्यक्षात मात्र तो एक पोरखेळच वाटला मला! अकबर हत्तीवर स्वार होताच तो कसा त्याला काबु होतो हे एक अजब कोडंच आहे. या गज-अकबर युध्दासाठी बनवलेला सेट पण तेवढाच तकलादु वाटतो. गमंत म्हणजे हा हत्ती आक्रमक किंवा हिंसक वाटण्यापेक्षा मोनिषाला तो "क्युट" वाटला.

अकबराच्या भुमिकेसाठी ह्रतिक कितपत योग्य आहे, होता ते मला माहीत नाही. पण जोधाच्या भुमिकेसाठी ऍश्वर्या नक्कीच नाही. ती तलवार वगैरे चालवताना दाखवलीयं पण तिच्या मध्ये तो करारी पणा जाणवला नाही. तो मला धूम-२ मध्ये सुध्दा दिसला नव्हता. हि बाई फक्त दिसायला अतिसुंदर आहे एवढचं मी म्हणू शकेन.

सिनेमा मध्ये नितीन काकांनी पण खुपच भ्रमनिरस केला! त्यांचे सेटमध्ये प्लास्टर ऑफ पँरीस खुप वेळा दिसला. रंग कमी पडला की काय असं वाटायला लागलं होतं. अकबर स्वता:च्या भावाला जेव्हा ढकलून देण्याची शिक्षा देतो, त्यावेळेचा सेट म्हणजे अक्षरशः थुक लावण्याचा प्रकार वाटला. कड्यावरच्या फळ्या दिसतातच आणि पाठीमागचे पडदे म्हणजे मागचा कचरा झाकण्यासाठी लावलेले वाटतात. पण त्यांचं एकंदरीत काम अफलातूनच आहे यात वाद नाहिये.

कोणत्या तरी वर्तमानपत्रामध्ये आलं होतं की, "बघा आणि थक्क व्हा" मी बघून थक्क झालोच. का बघीतला याचं कारण मी शोधण्याचा प्रयत्न केल्यावर आढळलं की तुझ्यावरचा विश्वास! पण तो फोल ठरला! सिनेमा बघून काय आठवतयं असं कोणी विचारल्यावर मला फक्त ऍश्वर्याचे दागिने तेवढे आठवतात!!

असो. बाकी सिनेमा बराच (लांब आणि खर्चिक) होता.

घरी सगळे कसे आहेत? सगळ्यांना विचारलयं म्हणून सांग. निकूदादा कालच नेपाळ टूर करून आला. ती पण खर्चिक होती म्हणे.

तुझ्या पुढच्या सिनेमासाठी हार्दीक शुभेच्छा! तो सुध्दा किती ही बरा असला तरी पण मी तो थिएटरलाच पाहीन. तुझ्यावरचा विश्वास कायम आहे. तो तसाच राहु दे रे बाबा!!

It was a fantabulous day of 2007!!

i met two great personalities on that day. It was especially great because both of them were from the field of Art! First was Mr. Anant Kulkarni – my colleague Sameer Kulkarni's father (Sameer is a sr. animator of our company, bcwebwise) and the other was , Mr. Neville D'souza, Nash Paul's father. (Nash is creative Head of our company).

Anant Kulkarni, is a retired professor of Illustration & Design from Sir J. J. School of Art. He is a great master of illustrations n designs. According to him, his students have been a great source of inspiration and he has learnt a lot from them. I found most of his work, graph based. ie. his illustrations are within a grid. That's the amazing part of his work. He had been teaching at the J.J. school for last 33 years. n retired 2 yrs. back. Not only me but each n everyone was thrilled to see his work. I liked his description of the abstracts. He said, distortion is abstract, Exaggeration is abstract. Abstract is for the creator himself.. He did what he likes in his own way. To be a great artist/designer, one should have skills, interest, observation, passion and interpretation. After having a talk of 15-20 mins. he was chatting with us for awhile when he told us his memorable experience with the Great Marathi Poet Mr. Mangesh Paadgaonkar. Once Mangesh Paadgaonkar was watching his design diary, (yess.. design diary.. he has a habit of putting down, scribbling, doodling, sketching in his notebook.. but as this all is in art/design form.. he calls it as a design diary...) he asked AK if he could write something in his diary and AK was willing. Then Paadgaonkar wrote in Marathi... "ज्यांचे ह्र्दय झाडाचं असतं, त्यांना फुले येतात" - that means, "Flowers blossom for those, whose heart is like a tree” Ohhh.. My God.. i think.. that was one of the best compliment he had ever got . it was greater than any kind of reward. He is great... n i am wordless..!!

Neville D'souza, Ohh.. my godd.. the man is full of energy, full of art enthusiasm, extremely friendly, very talkative and a little confused. :) We went to his place on the same day n we didnt find any wall in his house. there were just paintings, paintings n paintings all over the house. One would have to really look hard to find an empty space on the wall. Why would you want to try out, when u can have huge amount of art at one shot!!! He was very happy to see us there. From the start to the end, he was with us explaining most of his paintings and the experiences. I found a masterpiece. He had done a lot of work in about all the mediums with all the textures, with different styles, different forms. calligraphy, landscapes, abstracts, portaits, miniatures, photography and poetry.. everything was there. i liked his oil paintings of the Gorai Village, very much. It's in duotone with top angle perspective. Just loved it. i also liked his mini paintings. size woukd be approximately 12 mm x 12 mm. He had done that in water colours, spreading the colours very well n at the bottom-left he had drawn a small fence. ahaa.. what a rocking painting it was!! he has worked with Lintas and O&M long time back as art director. He also shared some of his rocking experiences in the field of advertising with us, like how they cracked some advt. ideas, what kind of thoughts they were having while advertising a specific product, their way of thinking, how they got ideas etc. etc. this was the most amazing part of our visit. i was just watching n clicking snaps with my mobile there. I was unable to stop myself. Another great experience was the Photography slide show.. the slide show which we enjoyed in my school days..U won’t get to see those machines these days.. It is well said that Old Is Gold…He showed us some of his snaps.. with the thoughts behind it and how to make improve in photography. We enjoyed it very much. it was an insight. His funda of work or design is... initiate, create and sell. ie.. first start your work with a great plan, create it and then properly execute it n then finally sell it. we really had a great time with him. He is great.. n i m wordless...!! Again!

There are a lot of thing i would like to tell about these 2 personalities.. but im short of words.. or im just lazy!! :D

सातारा ते कराड यांच्या दरम्यान नॅशनल हायवे क्रमांक ४ वरुन एक मोटार चालली होती. मोटारीत पुढच्या सीटवर एक जोडपे बसले होते आणि मागच्या सीटवर पुष्कळ सामान भरले होते. नवरा मोटार चालवत होता आणि बायको तोंडाचा पट्टा. मालिनीचे सर्वच बोलणे ऐकले पाहिजे आणि ऐकण्याजोगे असते असे सुधाकरला लग्नापूर्वीच्या दिवसात वाटायचे. लग्न झाल्यावर दोनच आठवड्यांत त्याचे मत बदलले. बायकोचे बोलणे चालू असताना मधूनमधून हूंकार देत राहिले की तिचे समाधान होते हे त्याने ओळखले. केव्हा होकार द्यायचा, नकार द्यायचा, आश्चर्य व्यक्त करायचे, आणि ते सुध्दा बोलणे न ऐकता! - ही कला त्याला आता दहा वर्षाच्या अनुभवाने साध्य झाली होती. फार तर पाच टक्के त्याचा अंदाज चुके, पण तेवढी चूक त्यांच्या संसारात व्यत्यय आणत नसे.

मी : नाय रे! त्रास होतो!

अमित: अरे आपण ते कोणासमोर उघडं करतोय हे समजायला हवं!

मी : हम्म... पण आपलं पुस्तक वाचण्यात कधी कधी समोरच्याला इंटरेस्टच नसतो!

happy independence day

today we are celebrating our 60 years independence day..!! all indians definitely get atleast an email with independence day greetings.. n many of them may got this image as greeting. n i m the creator of the same... :) proud of it..

but now i m confused..!! people just got original artwork from net.. they edit it... remove the logo of AQSHAR.com, add their names or company name n forward it to their friends... i m not there then.. i got 11 emails of independence greetings from yesterday.. n 4 of them with the same image with different company name and without my AQSHAR logo or without any credits... in what way should i react on this!!??

the best one.. i googled "indian independence day", i got my design on this link (http://www.outsourcingboom.com/blog/2006/happy-independence-day/)

this company got the same artwork.. edited it at their end.. they replaced the AQSHAR.COM logo with their company logo (http://www.accessti.com/).. and the height is that.. they specifically mentioned.. designed by - Sumanth G. Reddy (company name - Access Technology India, Delhi)

i think these guys are really celebrating, enjoying their independence of using any artists artwork without creators permission or without giving any credits to him/her.. :)

it's not only about me.. but also about all the artists, who had displayed their work online.. n the artworks got ripped / theft.

शाळा...

त्या दिवशी मला कळलं की शाळेची मजा कशात आहे ते. वर्ग आहेत, बाकं आहेत, पोरंपोरी आहेत, सर आहेत, गणित आहे, नागरिकशास्त्रसुध्दा; पण आपण त्यात कशातच नाही. आपण त्या गाईच्या पाठीवर बसणार्‍या पांढर्‍या पक्ष्यांसारखे मुक्त आहोत. ह्यांच्या शाळेत बसलेलो असलो तरी आपल्या मनात एक वेगळीच शाळा भरते. खास आपल्या एकट्याचीच. त्या शाळेला वर्ग नाहीत, भिंती नाहीत, फळा नाही, शिक्षक नाहीत; पण त्यातलं शिकणं फार सुंदर आहे.
